Willie R. “Ricky” Martin, age 65, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 31, 1958 in Fort Myers, Fl to Johnny and Joan Williams Martin and had lived in Evans County most of his life. He had worked at GA Pacific in Ellabell for many years before he had to retire. Ricky enjoyed spending time with family, coon hunting, fishing, camping, dancing and attending chicken/live stock sales. He never met a stranger and was a true friend to those considered as such. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky Martin, a daughter, Cindy Martin, and a brother, Wayne Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra Martin; his children, Gerry Rushing, Terri (Dale) Saylor, Amanda (Jason) Kennedy, and April (Robert) Ellis; siblings, Joan (Steve) Harvey, Johnny (Tracey) Martin, and Paul (Susan) Howard; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; aunt, Teresa Williams; uncle, Buster (Myrtle) Williams; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 6:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Monday, April 1, 2024 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Bothers James Bradley and Mike Gay officiating. Interment will follow in the Sikes Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Mark Rush.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ross McDonald, Jerry Rushing, Dale Sims and Jeremy Screen.
Low Country Cremation and Burial has the honor to served the Martin family.
