Mrs. Willie Mae Evans Richardson, 85, of Boydton, VA departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA.
Mrs. Richardson was born on April 18, 1940 in Boydton, VA to the late Sidney and Louise Evans. She received her education in the public schools of Mecklenburg County. She was a member of Jerusalem Temple United Holy Church, Inc. in Boydton, VA and served in many capacities of the church; she was an overseer of the kitchen, a member of the senior choir, the mother’s board and treasurer. Mrs. Richardson dedicated her life to performing duties that pleased God. She loved talking to people and had a big heart and much love to match it.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Donald Richardson; her two daughters, Shelia R. Hargrove and Joyce Louise R. Davis; five sisters and one brother.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory to one daughter, Vanessa R. Greene of Boydton, VA; two sons, Donald Richardson, Jr. (Kimberly) of Richmond, VA and Sherman Richardson, Sr. (Ramona) of Boydton, VA; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Evans Allen (Elder Charles) of Clarksville, VA; two aunts, Eunice Evans of Richmond, VA and Alice Benjamin of Maryland, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Evans Richardson will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Friday, November 21, 2025 at Jerusalem Temple United Holy Church, Inc., Boydton, VA with Elder Charles D. Allen delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
