Willie L. Scearce

January 17, 1939 - February 27, 2022

Willie L. Scearce, 83, entered into his heavenly home on February 27, 2022, at Sovah Hospital, Danville, Va. He was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on January 17, 1939, to the late Amanda Barber Scearce and the late Daniel B. Scearce.

Mr. Scearce was married to the late Helen Allen Scearce. He worked as a plumber for Commodore Mobile Homes and was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.

Mr. Scearce is survived by his sister, Charlotte Dodson (Ray); his special godson, Cody Allen; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Scearce was predeceased by three brothers, D.B. Scearce Jr., John R. Scearce, and Raymond C. Scearce; and two sisters, Mary Hundley and Florence Merricks.

A funeral service was held 1 p.m. Friday March 4, 2022, at Norris Funeral Services Westend Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, Va., with the Reverend Steve Chromy and the Reverend Corey Young officiating. A visitation was held from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Norris Funeral Services Westend Chapel. Interment followed at Danville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Mt. Hermon Fire & Rescue.
