Willie Ray Williams, 88, of Georgetown, Texas finished his race on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Willie was born on December 29, 1936, in Austin, TX to Bonnie Young and Jesse James Williams.

Willie led a remarkable life centered around his family, hard work and, of course, fast horses. He devoted 40 years working as a union iron worker local #482 in Austin, Texas. When he wasn't working, he was happiest outdoors; hunting in Pagosa Springs, CO with family, tending to his vegetable garden or working with his racehorses. His dedication, work ethic and high expectations inspired countless people. He approached every task with determination and heart, and he was fiercely loyal to all of those he loved. A man of very few words but when he spoke, everyone gathered around to listen.

Willie is survived by his loving daughters: Lisa Roberts of Salado, Texas and Rhonda Axelson and husband Matt of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughter, Jacey Garson and husband Brandon of Chehalis, Washington; grandson, Justin Axelson and wife Audrey of Lampasas, Texas; granddaughter, Angel Callan of Florence, Texas; grandson, Brandon Roberts and wife Brandy of Kempner, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Gordon of Georgetown, Texas; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.

Willie is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Hazel Ann Williams; mother, Bonnie Johnson and husband, Fred Johnson; father, Jesse James Williams; brother, James "Bud" Williams and wife, Marlene Williams; mother and father-in-law, Anna and David Taylor; sister-in-law, Mary Scarboro; brother-in-law, Paul Gordon; son-in-law, David Roberts; grandson-in-law, Carter Callan; along with many additional treasured family members.

Pallbearers include: Anthony Williams, Ricky Williams, Ryon Williams, Kenny Anastas, Brandon Roberts, Trey Park, Matt Axelson, and Tommy Whitzel.

Honorary pallbearers include: Justin Axelson, Brandon Garson and Stephen Denmon.
