Willie Wleczyk, 89, a native of Beasley, Texas and resident of Raceland, Louisiana passed away on August 7, 2024.
Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitier’s Catholic Church on with Wednesday August 14, 2024 from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Willie is survived by his children; Lisa Griffin (Mitch), Kelly Robinson, Dodie Guidry (Rickie) and Wendy Bridges (Chad), grandchildren; Kristie DiLeo (Andrew), Ethan Robinson, Casey Robinson, Nicolas Guidry (Ashley), Tyler Guidry (Teresa), Ridge Guidry, Chase Bridges and Mackenzie Bridges, great-grandchildren; Jacob, Kaleb, Celine, Kameron, Jayden, Grayson, Gia, Niah, Lila, Beau, Luc, Rome, Aubrey, Addison and Anderson, sister; Nancy W. Calaway.
Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years; Effie Babin Wleczyk, parents; John and Hattie B. Wleczyk, brothers; Max, Edward, Herbert, Eugene Wleczyk, sisters; Martha W. Savoy, Gladys W. Wilmore, Virginia W. Pastor and an infant sister; Attalia Wleczyk, son-in-law; Mark Robinson.
Willie was a United State Navy Veteran. He was a welder at Avondale Shipyard for many years and drove trucks cross country for Service Transport. Willie loved music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.
