Willis Edward Yoder was born on March 18, 1937, in Washington Co, IA, the son of Lloyd and Clarissa (Hochstedler) Yoder. He was baptized in his youth and remained a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church until his death. He was united in marriage to Wilma Kauffman on August 13, 1959. He was ordained a minister in 1966 and a bishop in 1991. He died after a brief illness on Dec. 25, 2025, at the age of 88 yr.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma and six daughters: Lois (Loren) Yoder of Riverside, Audrey Yoder, Charlotte (Lyndon) Miller, Iva (Duane) Bontrager, Rhoda Yoder, all of Kalona, and Dorcas (Leland) Miller of Riverside; 28 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cora Mae, his parents, one granddaughter, Nancy Arlene Yoder, two brothers, Ernest and Glen Dale, and six sisters: Velma, Anna Marie, Pauline, Alta, Susan, and Iva Yoder.
