Wilma Baker Obituary

We are saddened to share that Wilma Lou Baker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 3, 2025, at 92. Born December 8, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, her life was defined by love, compassion, and dedication to family and education.

Wilma was the daughter of Sue and Andrew Bonham and was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Bonham. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Cinda Pohler and Jenny Sargent, her son Andy Baker, grandchildren Cory Pohler, Haley Sen, Josh Pohler, Kealy Sargent, and great-grandchildren Dexter Sen, Clementine Sen, Ellie Sen, Noah Pohler, Rhoda Pohler, Ruth Pohler, Myah Wolff, and Emma Wolff. Her spirit and lessons endure in her family, keeping her legacy alive.

Wilma earned a Bachelor's degree in education at the age of 20, and spent over 35 years teaching. Her career took her to classrooms in Japan, Europe, and several schools in Texas, including San Antonio and Comfort. She was admired for her patience and wisdom, and she inspired many students throughout her life.

Wilma was known for her loving nature, kindness, and generosity. She made everyone around her feel special and valued, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her strong moral character guided those close to her, and she will be remembered for the love and warmth she gave so freely.

Wilma will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love that remains within each of us.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at an undecided time and location.

Rest in peace, dear Mother. Your spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
