Wilma Plummer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 16, 2024.
CORDELE – It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Wilma McDaniel Plummer, who died on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Crisp Regional. Wilma, 85, was a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Cordele Airport.
Wilma was born in Pitts, Georgia, to the late W. C. Nealy McDaniel and the late Myrtle McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Owen "Possum" Plummer, who passed away just 10 days before her. Their reunion in death reflects the enduring bond they shared in life. Wilma was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sue Hughes and Betty Jane Kemp.
Throughout her life, Wilma worked as a dedicated seamstress for Cordele Uniform, where she left an indelible mark with her skills. In her leisure time, she found joy in playing softball for various teams and was renowned for her prowess during tournaments. She had a deep passion for the Atlanta Braves, possessing extensive knowledge of their statistics. However, above all else, Wilma was cherished for her role as a devoted wife and loving mother.
Wilma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Derwin and Felicia Plummer of Cordele, as well as her brothers, Johnny McDaniel of Tifton and Jimmy McDaniel of Hawkinsville. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and an extended family who will continue to cherish her memory.
Those wishing to express condolences may do so online at www.hughesandwright.com. Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements for Wilma's memorial services.
In honoring Wilma McDaniel Plummer's life, we remember her kindness, strength, and the profound impact she had on those around her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband, and may her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her loss.
