Wilma Louise Jones Trinks, 94, of Marion, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Mountain Ridge Health and Rehab.
Wilma was born in McDowell County, NC on January 10, 1929, to the late Dewey R. Jones and Iva Cogdill Jones. She was married to the late Charles Harold Trinks, her husband of 67 years. She was a member of West Marion Baptist Church and loved children. She babysat for more than 50 children in McDowell County and remained in contact with most of them until her passing. She loved cooking, canning, and giving people homemade baked gifts. Wilma was a beacon of light for the Lord to countless people. She touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Trinks; a daughter, Wanda Gail Trinks; a brother, Hillard Jones; and a sister, Blanche Sprinkle.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Steve Trinks and wife Karen, whom she loved as a daughter, and Stan Trinks; three sisters, Faye Thomas, Marie Wiggins, and Helen Cable; a daughter in law, Jan Trinks; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Pastor Heath Ammons will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
