Wilmer Keener Obituary

Born September 17, 1940, in Hagerstown, MD he was the son of the late Eldad and Lydia Baer Keener.
He was a founding member of Hebron Mennonite Church and a friend of the Mennonite Central Committee.
For more than 37 years, he was an Ophthalmologist in Hagerstown. He was a farmer his whole life.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Fretz Keener; daughter, Lara L. (Kevin) Upton of Palmyra, VA; two sons: Dr. Brian J. (Brandy) Keener of Lancaster, PA; and Rodney L. (Matthew) Dunlap-Keener of Bloomfield, NJ; two brothers; Dr. Dana R. Keener of Elizabethtown, PA; and David Frye of Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters; Ruth K. Martin of Elizabethtown, PA and Lois E. Keener of Denver, CO; and 5 grandchildren; Olivia L. Keener, Casey J. Upton, Jonah T. Keener, Celia G. Keener, and Elijah J. Dunlap-Keener. He is predeceased by his two brothers; Dale L. Keener and Dr. Carl L. Keener; and grandchild Logan M. Upton.
Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m Saturday, August 26, in Paramount Brethren in Christ Church located at 19106 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742. Chaplain Bob Keener will officiate.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hebron Mennonite Church, 3315 Highlane Street, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
