Wilmetta Arlene "Willie" Weishaar passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Abilene.
She was born May 11, 1924 in Abilene the daughter of Charles William & Neva Zoe (Collins) Sellers. She grew up in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1942.
She was a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Abilene.
Willie married James Clare "Bud" Weishaar on April 28, 1947 in Abilene. They were married 69 years before his death on May 26, 2016
She loved playing bridge and playing golf. She was a member of the Chapman Ladies Golf Club for many years and enjoyed tournaments with friends.
Willie especially loved singing in the church choir for over 40 years.
She was a legal secretary at the Charles Bradshaw Law Firm for 35 years retiring on March 11, 1987.
She is survived by her son Dennis (Teresa) Weishaar of Abilene, two daughters Denise (Dennis) Haynes of Hays, and Diane (Dee) Greenough of Abilene; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Roland Sellers, Eldor Dean Sellers, four sisters Helen Bartlett Mettlen, Nelda "Susie" Sidesinger, Jane Janke, her twin sister Loretta Ansley, grandson Jon Weishaar, and great granddaughter Kaylee Mitchell, her parents, and her husband "Bud"
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, June 13, 2025 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Abilene with Father Peter O'Donnell as Celebrant. Her final resting place will be in the Mount Saint Joseph Cemetery north of Abilene. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the Danner Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following.
The family suggest memorial contributions to Hospice of Dickinson County of to St. Andrew's Catholic Church and may be sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
