Windell Lester Howard, age 85, of Bryant, AL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at his home with his loving wife, Helen, by his side.
Windell was born on July 2, 1940, in Jackson County, AL, to the late Bill and Ada Gray Howard. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Helen Higdon Howard, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage.
A mechanic by trade, Windell worked for many years at Honda of Chattanooga. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, mowing his yard, and being with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Helen; children, Jeff Howard and Melissa (Craig) Shelton; grandchild, Casey Shelton; and sister, Teresa Michaels (Rayburn Burns).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Willie Mae Bishop, Patsy, Charles, Jimmy, Ricky, and Allen Howard.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM ET on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, AL, with Brother Wayne Winters officiating.. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until 1:45 PM at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.
