Winifred Windish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ocean County Cremation Service - Toms River on Mar. 8, 2026.
Winifred Ann Windish passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be remembered for her joyful spirit, warm heart, and unforgettable laugh. Winnie had a special way of lighting up every room she entered with her sense of style, humor, and genuine love for those around her.

Winnie was the beloved mother of Deborah Mass and husband Glenn, Cathleen Martin and Tracey Laffman; and a cherished grandmother of Alexandra, William, Ashley and Connor.

She is also survived by her brother Peter Crisman and wife Maureen and brother in-law Jacob Hagmann, niece Colleen Shaw, nephew Michael Hagmann and wife Robin, niece Patricia Cardie and husband Brian, niece Maggie and Bridgette and husband Chino, and cousin Lawrence Crisman.

She was preceded in death by her brother Gregory Keeley, sister Maureen Hagmann, Brother John Crisman and cousin Margaret Maimone.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. Winnie often said that while their family may have been small, it was the best kind-one filled with love, laughter, and lifelong memories.

She loved bringing people together and was known for hosting wonderful gatherings where family and friends could share stories, laughter, and good times that are still talked about today. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with warmth and joy.

Winnie also had a love for travel and was fortunate to see many beautiful places throughout her life. She especially enjoyed visiting Ireland, England, and Italy, along with many destinations across the United States. She loved sharing stories from her adventures and reliving those special memories with others.

Later in life, Winnie became very involved in her community. She enjoyed playing bocce, darts, and shuffleboard, forming many friendships along the way.

Winnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her laughter, kindness, and the many memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
