Winston D. Collins, 82, passed away peacefully at home October 19, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in West Virginia to Everett Collins and Bessie Moore, he resided in the Akron, Ohio area all of his adult life. Winston was a U. S. Navy Veteran and he retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Winston was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Dobbins, Barbara Applegarth, Hilda Watson; step-son, John Gussey. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Collins; sons, Brian (Shawn) Collins, Winston (Shannon) Collins; step-daughter, Tish Jackson; grandchildren, Kyle (Tiffany), Meredith, Deion, DeVon (Olivia); great grandchildren, Kallum, Weston, Lily, Landon; brother, Harold Bennet Jr; cousin, Jane Smith.
The family will have a celebration of Winston's life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Winston's name to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
