Donna Leanne Chavis, 71, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2025. Donna was born in Ravenna, Ohio on September 26, 1954 to the late Thomas and Joan Beck.
After graduating from Waterloo High School, Donna began her career as a nursing assistant and home health aide. Her loving, kind hearted spirit led her to care for others. She was very generous and always welcomed others into her home.
In her free time, Donna loved curling up with a good book or watching game shows and classic television shows. She was an avid animal lover from a young age. She grew up with horses and dogs and always remembered her favorite dog, Champ.
Above all, Donna was a woman of faith. She grew up in a Christian home and most recently was a Sunday School member at New Life Pentecostal Church in Akron.
Donna was preceded in death by father, Thomas Beck; dad, David Myers; mother, Joan Myers; brother, Thomas Randall Myers; and stepbrothers, Theodore Myers and Tim Myers.
Donna will be dearly missed by her children, Kim Chavis, Amy (Michael) McPhillen, and Kevin Chavis (Dananne) and their father, Frederick Chavis; siblings, Elaine (Michael) Johnson, Linda (Craig) McCardle, Vicki (Ron) Bennett, Jason Myers, Troy Myers, Tonya (Matt) Niedermaier, Nikki Myers, and Tiana (Angelo) Mango; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Following services, Donna will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Randolph with Father Kevin Bertleff officiating.
