The family of Winston Lewis Pollard, born September 30, 1949, in Newport, Oregon has announced his passing on Saturday, the 4th of October 2025 at 76 years of age. Winston leaves behind his wife Kim Pollard, son Ronald "Drew" Pollard, daughter Deanna Pollard (Partner David Bassett), and nephew Paul Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Sisk Pollard and Anna Dorothy (nee Lewis) Pollard and sister Patricia G. Collins.

Winston lived in Corbin, Kentucky until he joined the Marines during the Vietnam war. Upon his return, he received master's degrees in history and education from Eastern Kentucky University after which he taught briefly at Laurel County Highschool. Winston joined the Navy in 1986, retiring honorably from his military service in 2001. During this time, Winston met his wife Kim, and they started their family. As with many military families, they relocated multiple times with the last assignment bringing them to his final home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

After retiring honorably from the Navy, Winston took up numerous jobs, including working in the IT department for the Virginia Department of Corrections at various facilities, moving to work for Virginia Information and Technologies, and retiring from the state while working at the Virginia Department of Blind and Vision Impaired.

Once retired, Winston took advantage of his free time to join a breakfast group and reconnected with coworkers and other veterans. Sadly, Winston had unexpected complications from a surgery and was unable to recover.

The Family will be holding a memorial service for friends and relatives at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel at 1:00 PM, Friday, October, 10, 2025. Winston will be interred at a private ceremony with military honors at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.

The family would like to thank those that have helped them through this difficult time.
