Winton Bashir Almas

Winton Bashir Almas (1939 - 2024) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. -Psalm 23:1-3
Winton Almas, a beloved resident of Millcreek, Utah, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024. He was 84 years old. He was born on December 2, 1939 in Gujranwala, Pakistan. Winton had 3 brothers and one sister and was the last of his siblings to go to the Lord. Winton's parents passed away when he was 12 and he was brought up by his father's brothers and sister. He spent his childhood in Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore.
Winton completed his matriculation studies in Gujranwala and attended Gordon College, Rawalpindi for his studies as Lab Technician. He began his professional career at Randhawa Clinic in Lahore.
He traveled to Italy, Greece, Iraq, Cypress in 1970 and moved to Tehran, Iran in 1972 and then moved to Bolivia in 1977, and then settled in Argentina in 1984. He traveled all across Latin America in the 80's and finally, migrated to the U.S. in 1995. He worked at District Photos until 2005 and permanently moved to Salt Lake City, in 2008.
Winton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Prommila Almas, sons Hermann and Hermis, their wives Brittany and Laura, and grandchildren, Lucas, Abigail, Ezequiel, Caydence, Zarina, Hayley, and Jaxon.
Winton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a valued friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
