Wirt Brumfield Sr., 67 of Delbarton, WV passed away November 24, 2024 at his home. He was born September 18, 1957 at South Williamson, KY the son of the late Walter and Rebecca Evans Brumfield. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Chrystal Dawn Fields- Runyon, brothers, Walter Brumfield Jr., Jeff Brumfield and George Brumfield, sisters, Faye Shield, Joan Brumfield, Darlene Brumfield, Vicie Stafford and Elsie Mahon.
Wirt was a retired coal miner. After his retirement he decided to go back to work at Big Lots where he loved meeting people and working in the furniture department. Wirt served the Lord for many years and was a member of the Muncy Valley United Baptist Church. He loved to fish and tinker with his old cars. He was always joking around and loved to make people smile. As a loving husband, dad, grandpa and brother he will be sadly missed.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Colegrove Brumfield, children, Wirt Brumfield Jr., Ron and his wife Heather Fields, Renee and Stephanie Richfield and Angela and her husband Charles Osborne Jr., sisters, Brenda and her husband Jerry Salyers and Pamela and her husband Clifford Hatfield.
He also leaves behind grandchildren, Leo Richfield, Leigha Fields, Jacob Surrett, Maggie Gibson, Jami Lynn Fields, Destiny Huber, Brynn Fields and Kamron Fields and 10 great grandchildren which he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1:00pm with Elders Joey Evans and Tommy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Colegrove Cemetery at Right Fork of Laurel Creek, WV. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00am until the start of the funeral services at 1:00pm. Pallbearers will be his friends and family.
Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton is proudly serving the Brumfield and Colegrove families.
