Woodrow Delamar Obituary

Woodrow Delamar Jr. affectionally known to everyone as "Woody" was born to the late Woodrow Delamar Sr. and Bertha Mae Satterthwaite Delamar on January 23, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY.

Woody was educated in the New York public school system. He lived in New York until his parents retired to NC when he was 12. He completed his education in the Beaufort County School System graduating from John A Wilkinson HS, class of 1982. As part of his student involvement at J.A.W.; he played football and basketball and was a bus driver for several years.

Later in life he meets Valerie Foreman and they were married in 1998. Valerie was always by Woody's side supporting him in everything. To this union was born one son, Adonis Delamar, the youngest of his children. He has 3 beautiful daughters that he loved dearly, Katrina Holloway, Tomyra Corprew and Ebony Knight. Woody was a devoted husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with his family. Katrina was his first born, as a baby, rode with him on his school bus routes. He taught her to drive, and she's been in love with driving ever since. Woody leaned on his daughter, Tomyra, a nurse, as both a confident and trusted health advisor consulting her periodically. Ebony in her younger years was Woody's little sidekick. She went everywhere with him enjoying her father/daughter bonding time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening. He shared this love of fishing and hunting with his son Adonis. He had an encouraging word for everyone, especially his grandkids. He also had a love for cooking; on occasion he would host family gatherings following in his parents' footsteps and everyone would come "Over the River" and have a great time. Growing up he was raised with his nephews Tay and Blue, who he always considered his "brothers".

Right after high school Woody served in the Army. He went on to work several different jobs before retiring from Waste Management and David Trash. During his retirement he created the business, Riverside Pro Washer, with his son Adonis. They ran the business until he was no longer able.

In July 2022 Woody became a baptized believer and dedicated his life to following Jehovah. He was a devote Jehovah Witness and looked forward to their meetings every Thursday and Sunday. He enjoyed going out doing Jehovah Witnesses' field service work and educating people about the truth of Jehovah. His passion was ministering to people. One of his favorite scriptures was Psalms 27.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Delamar Sr. and Bertha Mae Satterthwaite Delamar and one brother, Tyberius Gray.

Woody is survived by his wife of 27 years, Valerie Delamar, three daughters, Katrina Holloway of Belhaven, NC, Tomyra Corprew (& Antonio) of Washington, NC, Ebony Knight (& Columbus) of Washington, NC, one son, Adonis Delamar of the home.
