On March 6, 2025, while making his way to work, Xavier Reese Briscoe, 34, of Austell, GA life's journey tragically ended in an automobile accident. Xavier Reese was born on November 7,1990, in Boston, MA, to Vera R. Briscoe & Richard A. Perkins, Jr.
Xavier, affectionately known as Reese, journey began in Boston until he moved to his mother's hometown of Newport, RI where he attended the Newport Public School System until the age of 15.
Reese knew early on that he wanted a career in the military or law enforcement, so he entered the ROTC Program in the 9th grade at Rogers High School and after moving to GA continued becoming a member of the ROTC Raiders & the Drill Team until his 2008 graduation from South Cobb High in Austell, GA. This was the beginning of his Reese's young adult journey in Georgia. Reese was a determined young man and continued his education attending Atlanta Inter-Continental University & Kennesaw State University where he earned his Associate's Degree in Science in Criminal Justice in 2010.
Reese did not let anything stop him, his love for the military was the driving force for his enlistment into the US Navy. His dream of following in his parents military footsteps and beginning his own was short lived due to a medical condition. Though he was not able to complete it, his legacy will live on as he was honorably discharged and classified as a United States Veteran.
Reese worked various jobs in the automotive service industry as a mechanic, commercial trucking repair & his most recent commercial automotive sales & supply.
Reese loved many things, his love for swimming, sailing and fishing began as a child as he lived by the ocean in Newport. Being on or in the water wasn't his only passion, he played the trombone in the school band, was on the soccer team, loved horseback riding & playing chess. His competitive spirit is what led him to become a "pool shark" at the Boys & Girls Club where he effortlessly won against everybody including the director.
When Xavier wasn't hanging out with his closest friends, he was helping his brother Anthony deliver newspapers and did volunteer work as a Member of Newport City Year & Children's Child Crusade. During his downtime, you would find him reading, if it was a good book, it was guaranteed he'd read it in one day. Reese read all six of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy books as well as the Bible. Reese was very sharp and it worked in his favor when his mother told him "not to fall asleep on the bus from Newport to Providence. To stay awake he recited the entire movie "Fellowship of the Ring," verbatim. Anybody & everybody knew Xavier had jokes for days. He could make you laugh no matter what type of mood you were in and despite his laid-back personality. He stood up and out to make you smile.
Reese aka Boogie loved bikes, he became a member of H.O.O.D. Ryderz ATL for 5 years where he served as the motorcycle club's secretary. Time and again the club expressed their sincere gratitude for his dedication and support. Xavier treasured, not only his family, but his friends, both as a child and as an adult and considered his closest friends his brothers. Each of you know who you are.
On day 5 of Kwanzaa, is the principle of Nia which means purpose. Xavier would always say "We all have a purpose!" And with that, his purpose has been served here on earth. God called him home. Reese is now in the heavenly realms with his great-grandmother, Dorothy Vera Walker, Grandmother, Frances H. Briscoe, Grandfather, Richard A. Perkins, Sr., Uncles Lawrence A. Briscoe & Antony D. Perkins & his Father-in-Law Armando Cuevas.
Reese's legacy forever lives within his parents, Vera and Richard (Sharon); wife Jasenia (Cuevas) Briscoe; son, his "Mini Me" Xander, 10, daughter, "Lil Fish" Aniyah, 4 & step-daughter Arianna Burke, 13 of Austell, GA.; Grandmother U.V.
