Xavier Cambray, age 46, of Chicago, Illinois, was born on August 30, 1978, and went home to Jesus on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Xavier was the most loving husband of Yamili Cambray; the most caring father of Paloma, Isabel, Olivia, Penelope, and Priscilla Cambray; dear son of Cristina Calderon; beloved brother of Gerardo, Sonia (Fernando) Saenz, Sandra, and Lily Cambray; unforgettable uncle of Christian, Cristian Andres, Gianni, Ivan, Michelle, Abby, Nicole, Sebastian, Emme, and Max; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.
Xavier was a kind and generous person who touched many lives. He always defined himself as a family man and a great leader. He was a gentle soul, yet firm in his decisions. He loved bringing family together around a meal. He served at various churches by offering complimentary production workshops for the youth and had the gift of gathering people for community causes. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, strength, and compassion for others.
Xavier was a talented media producer and correspondent for Televisa, his love for communication and community led him to create and run both his own company Planetaxlive which he operated with great dedication.
He was especially proud of the opportunity to collaborate with influential figures such as Chuy Garcia, Luis Gutierrez, Millie Santiago, and various aldermen, among others.
Throughout his career, he had the privilege of interviewing some of the most celebrated figures in the music industry, including renowned artists such as Marc Anthony, Karol G, and Cristian Nodal. His work reflected his deep admiration for talent and the stories that shape the world of music. A prominent figure in the music community, Xavier was especially proud to be involved with events like The Hispano Fest and Gran Festival Colombiano, where he not only celebrated cultural heritage but also helped bring people together through the universal language of music. His presence at these festivals was a testament to his love for sharing music and his passion for Latin culture.
In the final years of his life, Xavier felt a deep calling to grow closer to God, surrendering his life and heart to Jesus. His journey of faith became a guiding light, and he sought to serve others through his newfound spiritual dedication. His commitment to his faith brought him peace and fulfillment, and his love for God became an integral part of his legacy. We find comfort in knowing that he is now in the loving arms of our Lord, embraced by the eternal peace he so faithfully sought.
