On September 4, 2021, while surrounded by those he loved, the world lost Yancy Lane Watkins, age 48, from Covid complications. Born on August 8, 1973, Yancy was a "Mountain of a Man" as seen by his gentle and steadfast demeanor. His bear hugs, dimpled smile and crystal blue eyes can never be replaced.

From an early age, Yancy loved the outdoors and hunting. A love that cultivated a special bond with his son. If you knew Yancy, you knew his son, Holden and wife, Michelle were the center of his universe. Behind his family and the outdoors, he loved helping people daily, as a Field Clinical Specialist, in the Transcatheter Heart Valve Division, at Edwards Lifesciences.
Yancy was a lifelong resident of Livingston, La. He graduated from the Baton Rouge General School of Radiology, specialized in the heart Cath lab, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Southeastern Louisiana State University.

He is survived by his wife and son, Michelle Levert Watkins and Holden Lane Watkins; mother Betty and Ronnie Rosenson; father Tommy and Ramona Watkins; brother Joel Watkins (Nancy); nephews Miles and Reed Watkins; In-laws Sharon and Thomas Levert, brother-in-law Corey Levert (Angie); nephews Brandt Levert and Bendant Copland; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, life-long friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Edward and Eleanor May and paternal grandparents Clarence and Delora Watkins.

Pallbearers are Joel Watkins, Troy Jones, Chase Jones, Arch Toto Morgan, II, Derek Morgan, Corey Levert, Fred Stevenson (honorary), Dr. Terry Zellmer (honorary) and Dr. Venkat Surankanti (honorary).

The family would like to thank his doctor and Cath lab friends at OLOL for being Yancy's guardian angels. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home located at 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. that will be officiated by Rev. Willis Easley. The interment will follow at Gateway Gardens in Livingston, LA.
