Yolanda “Landy” Lee Elkins, age 74, resident of Norfork, Arkansas and beloved wife of Randy Dean Elkins went to be with her Savior Sunday, July 6th, 2025.
Landy was born September 23rd, 1950, in Madison, Tennessee, the eldest daughter of the late Dr. Walter Shaen Sutherland and Mavis Glay Savage Sutherland. She attended Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she graduated with a degree in Nursing.
Landy was a home health and hospice nurse for over 30 years. She dedicated her life to assisting and guiding people during their most vulnerable times. Her thoroughness and work ethic inspired those around her.
She had recently relocated to Norfork, Arkansas from Oakland, Tennessee to be closer to her family. During her time in Oakland, she was an avid participant of Somerville Methodist Church in Somerville, Tennessee. She was a woman of faith and family. She loved both her church family and her family with fervent and tender dedication. She was a member of the choir and enjoyed volunteering for Vacation Bible School.
She was a talented artist like her father and found great pleasure in drawing and painting birds and other natural landscapes. She loved to work in her yard with her adorable, sweet cockapoo Millie by her side. Her most recent project included trying to tame back the national forest and planting her flowers. She immensely enjoyed her daily studies of the Bible.
However, her family was the most important thing to her next to her relationship with God. She was so dedicated to loving the ones around her. Time with family was something she cherished. She was above all else a dutiful wife and mother. May we all model her example.
Mrs. Elkins is survived by her two daughters Adrienne Roberts (Mark) and Hilary Elkins; her son, Jonathan Elkins; Her brother, Chris Sutherland (Kendra); her sister, Heather Butterfield (Leslie) and Eddie Sutherland (Carla); her sisters-in-law, Paula Elkins and Jackie Elkins (Richard), brothers-in-law Larry Elkins (Mona) and John Elkins (Judy); and five grandchildren Avery Humphreys, Alec Humphreys, Chandler Roberts, Ashley Roberts and Mitchell Roberts; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her loving husband Randy Elkins, brother Corby Sutherland and brother-in-law, Lynn Elkins.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Somerville Methodist Church or the Benevolence Fund, 202 S. East Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
