Yolanda M. Gomez, 97, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 21st, 2024. Born on April 13th, 1927, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Yolanda was the beloved daughter of Ismael Gonzalez-Abreu & Dolores "Lolita" Galens (both deceased).
Yolanda is survived by her sister-in-law Julia Sosa de Gonzalez-Abreu, nieces, Mayra Gonzalez-Abreu & Mari-Tere Quintero Pi; nephews, Manny Gonzalez-Abreu (Emily), Agustin Quintero (Linda) and Tony Bacallao; grandnieces, Angeline Marie Gonzalez-Abreu, Isabel Cecilia Prado, Teresita (Jeff) Golomb, Michelle (Paul) McFarland, & Danielle (Rene) Ciccarello; grandnephews, Paul Quintero (Jason) & Guillermo Pi; great grandnephews Gabe Prado, David McCann, & Jacob McFarland, Santino Ciccarello; great grandnieces, Cameron McFarland, Alexandra & Sophie Golomb & Gracie Ciccarello, and brother, Frank Gonzalez-Abreu, as well as by her many great friends and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fides "Traguito" Gomez, her brothers Roberto Gonzalez-Abreu, Manuel Gonzalez-Abreu, her sister Mara Quintero and her niece Isabel Bacallao.
Yolanda was a devout Catholic who loved everybody, she was extremely generous with her time and advice, proud of her Cuban heritage and eternally grateful to her adoptive towns Bayamón, Puerto Rico and Miami, Florida, where she leaves behind many loyal friends.
The family is profoundly thankful to Loipa, Margot, Marli and Miriadys who were dedicated caregivers to Yolanda for many years.
A viewing will be held on August 29th, 2024 from 9 AM-11 AM at Funeraria Memorial Plan-Westchester 9800 SW 24th Street, Miami, FL 33165, followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 AM at St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church at 3475 SW 17th St, Miami, FL 33145. The burial service will follow at 1 PM at Flagler Memorial Park, 5301 W. Flagler St, Miami, FL 33134.

Yolanda M. Gomez, de 97 años, residente de Miami, Florida, falleció pacíficamente rodeada de su familia el 21 de agosto de 2024. Nacida el 13 de abril de 1927 en Cienfuegos, Cuba, Yolanda era la amada hija de Ismael Gonzalez-Abreu y Dolores "Lolita" Galens (ambos fallecidos).
A Yolanda le sobreviven su cuñada Julia Sosa de Gonzalez-Abreu; sus sobrinas, Mayra Gonzalez-Abreu y Mari-Tere Quintero Pi; sus sobrinos, Manny Gonzalez-Abreu (Emily), Agustin Quintero (Linda) y Tony Bacallao; sus sobrinas nietas, Angeline Marie Gonzalez-Abreu, Isabel Cecilia Prado, Teresita (Jeff) Golomb, Michelle (Paul) McFarland y Danielle (Rene) Ciccarello; sus sobrinos nietos, Paul Quintero (Jason) y Guillermo Pi; sus sobrinos bisnietos Gabe Prado, David McCann, Jacob McFarland y Santino Ciccarello; sus sobrinas bisnietas, Cameron McFarland, Alexandra y Sophie Golomb y Gracie Ciccarello; y su hermano, Frank Gonzalez-Abreu, así como muchos grandes amigos y conocidos. Fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, su esposo Fides "Traguito" Gomez, sus hermanos Roberto Gonzalez-Abreu y Manuel Gonzalez-Abreu, su hermana Mara Quintero y su sobrina Isabel Bacallao.
Yolanda fue una católica devota que amaba a todos, era extremadamente generosa con su tiempo y consejos, vivió orgullosa de su herencia cubana y eternamente agradecida a sus ciudades adoptivas Bayamón, Puerto Rico y Miami, Florida, donde deja muchos amigos leales.
La familia está profundamente agradecida a Loipa, Margot, Marli y Miriadys, quienes cuidaron a Yolanda durante muchos años.
El velorio se llevará a cabo el 29 de agosto de 2024 de 9 AM a 11 AM en Funeraria Memorial Plan-Westchester, 9800 SW 24th Street, Miami, FL 33165, seguida de una misa funeral a las 11:30 AM en la Iglesia Católica St. Raymond of Peñafort en 3475 SW 17th St, Miami, FL 33145. El servicio de entierro será a la 1 PM en Flagler Memorial Park, 5301 W. Flagler St, Miami, FL 33134.
