Yolanda Schellack

Yolanda Kaye Schellack aka Yo Meine (74) passed away at her home in Dillon, MT with family by her side on March 28, 2023.
Yo was born in Rock Springs, WY to Haines Wendell and Louella (Engebretson) Wendell on November 6, 1948. She was the oldest of five siblings: Debbie, Dick, Craig, and Heidi. She was close to her half-brothers Larry, Max, and Lloyd. They all were blessed to have a sister who was a ringleader, "borrowing" the family car often (starting in third grade) and teaching the joys of speed, adventure, and general mischief.
After graduating from High School in 1966, Yo moved to Butte where she met and married Lowell Schellack in 1967. The couple had two children; Brenda and Gregg. The family moved to Dillon in 1971 and later divorced.
Yo worked at Kings and The Lions Den where she met the love of her life, Carl Meine. Carl and Yo began their life together at the ranch on Anderson Lane where she embraced her new three step-sons; Dan, Tom, and Tim. Yo was a hard-working ranch wife; she was a night owl and handled the night calving, had an enormous garden, chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, pigs and was an amazing cook that kept the family of 7 well fed.
A strong, feisty and independent spirit, Yo told you exactly what she thought and in her own special language. After all the kids moved on and ranching scaled down, Yolanda enjoyed the cozy sanctuary of trees, birds, bunnies, deer and owls. Yo loved her family dearly and kept close track of everyone each day on social media. Her heart was broken when Carl passed in 2020 after 48 years together.
Yolanda was predeceased by: her mother Louella Wendell, father Haines Wendell, brother Craig Wendell, half-brothers; Max Wendell and Larry Wendell, and her lifemate Carl Meine.
Yo is survived by her daughter Brenda Rodriguez of Dillon, MT and son Gregg Schellack (Michelle) of Harrison, ID; her step-sons: Dan Meine of Missoula, MT, Tom Meine of Dillon, MT, Tim Meine (Kathy) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Jeremy, Anna, Carlee, Bradley, Elizabeth, Kali, and Emma; several great–grandchildren; siblings; Debbie Ferris of Butte, MT, Dick Wendell (Carolyn) of Ulm, MT, and Heidi Wendell of Helena, MT; half-brother Lloyd Wendell of Nampa, ID, nephews; Derek Matson, Brent Matson, and Joshua Wendell; Nieces: Kail Cirtain, Emily Anderson, Nichole Schumacher, and Brittani Ferris.
At Yo's request no services will be held. The family is hoping to host a BBQ this spring to celebrate her. She will be dearly missed by all those who love her. Rest in Peace
