Ralph E. Schellack, 82, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, died after a short battle with cancer, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born on August 11, 1942, in Moorhead to Otto and Ella (Thom) Schellack. He grew up and attended school in Glyndon. He graduated from Glyndon High School in 1960 and then attended Moorhead State University.

Ralph married Ann Lisburg on June 24, 1967, in West Fargo, ND. He served in the North Dakota Air National Guard and as a reserve in the Air Force from May 1965 until April 1971, while also farming in Glyndon with his dad and brother.

After farming for 42 years, Ralph retired. In his retirement, he enjoyed jobs delivering farm chemicals and supplies. He also worked fall beet harvests with other farmers, which he loved doing.

Ralph participated in Glyndon Jaycees, The Riverton Township Board, and he also grew and donated tons of vegetables to the Dorothy Day House and Churches United, both in Moorhead. He worked many Thanksgiving dinners and funerals at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead. Church, family and friends were very important to him. Ralph was also a 16-year breast cancer survivor.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann; daughters, Debra (David) Reinke and her children, Rachel and Reanna; Dawn (Steven) Lagergren and her children, Nora and Holly; and Diane Schellack and her children, Marti, Syl and Ani; two sisters, Nadine (John) Glas and Pauline Schellack; sisters-in-law, Fay Schellack, Emily (Bob) Olsen, Patty Maloney, Ruth (Ed) Olsker, Lucy Wells, Nancy (Scott) Jenkins, Jackie (Jim) Butenhoff, and Bernadette (Dan) Dillon; brother-in-law, Willie (Mary) Lisburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Bernard and Bridget Lisburg; brother, Kenneth Schellack, brothers-in-law, Rick Wells and Terry Maloney; and granddaughter, Hannah Dawn Lagergren.

Heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley for their wonderful support and care during Ralph’s final days.
