On November 6, 1947, Yong Sun Bio was born in Busan, South Korea. One of five children born to the late Pan Chul Lee and Young Soon Kim, Yong grew up in Korea.
As a young woman met a military man by the name of Alfred Nauta Bio who was stationed in Korea. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1982, in Seoul and shared over 35 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on March 8, 2017.
Yong and Alfred were blessed with four children: Diana, Donna, Dominic, and Destiny. Yong was privileged to be able to stay at home and raise her children who were her whole world.
Due to Alfred being in the military, Yong and the family lived the military life and transferred with him to his different duty stations. In 1989, the family was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood and in 1996, at the time of Alfred's retirement, they decided to remain in the area where their children graduated from Waynesville High School.
In her spare time, Yong enjoyed spending time outdoors with her husband and family, playing Bingo with her friends, and cooking for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Yong passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, in her home in St. Robert, Missouri having attained the age of 77 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her.
Yong leaves to cherish her memory, her four children: Diana Rose Kim of Springfield, MO, Donna Woo (Danny) of Greenwood, IN, Dominic Bio (Lauren) of St. Robert, MO, and Destiny Bio Lim (Jesse Lim) of Cassville, MO; eight grandchildren: Aiden, Addison, Dream, Seth, Spencer, Arthur, Day, and Avery; one sister: Soon Sun Lee of Korea; three brothers: Jong Moon Lee, Sam Moon Lee, and Moon Shik Lee, all of Korea; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Even though she is gone from our sight, Yong's love for her family will live on in our hearts forever.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Minhee Lee officiating. Bio's youngest daughter, Destiny, accompanied herself as she sang a beautiful song in memory of her mother. Lauren Bio, Yong's daughter-in-law, read a beautiful eulogy that she had written in honor of her mother-in-law. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Yong Bio and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
