Youssef "Joe" Moussa age 83, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 31, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, with the love and support of his family by his side.
He was born on February 10, 1940 in Lebanon, one of six children of the late Georges and Marieanna Asmar Moussa. He was married to Anna Saba on September 9, 1962 in Lebanon, a loving and blessed union of 60 years, until her passing one month ago on February 27, 2023. Joe was employed as a supervisor with the Utica Veal Co. for many years and also Behlog's Produce Co. until his retirement. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. They will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
He is survived by his three daughters; Fadia (Todd) Mastrovitch of N.J., Marie "Mary" and husband Robert Karrat of N.J. and Barbara McConnell of New Hartford; two sons, George (Erin) Moussa of Oneonta and Chaiban "Chai" and wife, Megan Moussa of MA.; his beloved grandchildren Gary III and wife, Emily McConnell, Joseph McConnell, Spencer Karrat, Austin Karrat, Ana Mastrovitch, and Fadia, J.J., Kelly, and Matthew Moussa; one brother Ibrahim Moussa of Lebanon; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Lebanon and Australia, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, all in Lebanon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend His Divine Liturgy of the Faithful Departed this Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Louis Gonzaga Church, Utica, with the Rev. Boutros El Hachem, officiating. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
