Mrs. Victoria Moussa was born in Bmalkeh, Tartous, Syria in 1932 (or 1930 according to her father's Bible). She married Nicholas Moussa in 1952 and immigrated to Detroit, MI shortly after in 1953. Her only daughter and best friend Joanne Aneese (Medhat) was born in 1955. Victoria had many work experiences starting as a seamstress in a bridal shop. After a few years, she left to pursue her passion cooking in several popular Middle Eastern restaurants including Phoenicia and The Gnome in Midtown Detroit and even supplied specialty foods to Tiger Stadium.
In 1986, Victoria gained three more children when she brought her nieces and nephew from Haiti, to come live with her: Soraida (Dan), Sylva (Joseph) and Tarek (Trisha). Additionally, she spent her life very close to her numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a proud and loving Sito to Matthew (Jenna), Andrew (Tina), Nadia (Mark). She was an adored Big Sito to Ethan, Nathan, Anna, Phoebe, Naomi, Isaac, and James.
Victoria was beloved by her great nephews & niece: Christopher, Adam, Mark, Max, Ryan, John, Lucas and Laila.
The great joys of her life were cooking for her grandkids on Sunday afternoons, playing cards, and visiting with her friends at all hours of the day and night, dropping in to say, "start the coffee."
Just days before her passing, her family gathered to joyously celebrate her 95th birthday. They are comforted in the knowledge that she will have a loving reunion in Heaven with her very large family and countless friends.
Visitation: Monday, June 23, 2025 from 4 pm - 9 pm.
