It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred Alsbury, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on May 15, 1941, in Rhode Island, Mildred's early years were filled with love, creativity, and a strong sense of family. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Raymond, beginning a partnership that would span more than six decades. Together, they faced the challenges and joys of raising a family, moving across the country as Raymond's Navy career took them to various bases. Mildred became the epitome of a Navy wife, gracefully managing the household and caring for their children while Raymond was deployed, ensuring their home was always filled with love and warmth. After Raymond's passing, Mildred continued to honor his memory while surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. Mildred was the proud mother of Raymond Alsbury, Dawn (Anthony) Rizzo, Melissa (predeceased Duane) Alsbury, and Daniel (Donna) Alsbury. She was an adoring grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Jocelyn, Charlie, Shannon, Angie (John), Missy (Garrett), Anthony, Deah (Steven), Daniel, Douglas (Alex), Millie Ray, Benny, and Annabella. Her legacy lives on in her 13 great-grandchildren, who were each blessed to be a part of her life. Mildred was known for her many talents and her deep care for others. An expert homemaker, she was an accomplished cross-stitch artist, creating intricate, beautiful pieces that will forever be cherished by her family. She had a love for sewing, often crafting clothes for her children and making pieces that were both practical and artistic. Her drawing skills reflected her creativity, and her culinary talents were unmatched. Whether she was cooking hearty meals or baking sweet treats, her kitchen was always a welcoming place of comfort and joy. Mildred's selfless spirit extended beyond her family. She was always there for others, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or a kind word. Her nurturing nature and ability to love without hesitation left an indelible mark on everyone she met. A memorial visitation will take place on September 27th from 12-3 with a Celebration of Life Service to follow staring at 3 at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blocks E. of Van Dyke), Utica, Michigan 48317.
