Vasselboro- Yvette C. Waldron, 92, died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
Yvette was born in Augusta, Maine on April 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Alfred and Florence (Martin) LeClair.
At a very young age, Yvette went to work in the shoe factory working at Hazzard Shoe, Gardiner Shoe, Truitte Brothers Shoe, Richmond Shoe and Lewiston Shoe just to name a few. Her strong work ethic led to a more than forty-five-year career in the shoe manufacturing industry.
In her spare time, she loved to cook and bake and made most all of the wedding cakes for grandchildren. She and Rodney loved music, attending dances or just going for a long ride. He she loved hosting and attending family gatherings and trips to Canada to visit family. Her smile and loving way will be missed by many people.
Yvette was predeceased by her husband, Rodney Waldron; a daughter, Betty Tompkins; three sisters, Laurette Veilleux, Lorraine Rancourt, Yolande Keene; a grandson, Travis Williams. She is survived by two sons, Harold Williams of FL, Ronnie and Leslie Waldron of Gardiner; a daughter, Nancy Bourget of Vassalboro; a sister, Elizabeth and Jermaine Villeneuve of Augusta; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours celebrating Yvette's life will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, School Street, Gardiner, ME. Burial will follow at the New Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, ME.
