Yvonne Kirk Chambers (Nonny), 81, was called to her heavenly home on October 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Yvonne was born in Crab Orchard, WV on March 11, 1943 and was the daughter of the late James N and Amy Orean Kirk. Besides her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her sister Robin Lee Kirk and the love of her life for 51 years Ronald Chambers.
After graduation, Yvonne was employed as a secretary by Sigmund-McClean Insurance Agency. Other places of employment include Rimmer’s Drug Store and she was a Mary Kay Consultant. She had several jobs over the years, but Her favorite and most rewarding jobs were being a wife, mother and a nonny. Yvonne loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was always their number one fan. Yvonne was a member of the Cross Point Church of God and loved her church family like her own. She loved singing in the choir, working with youth, working with the women’s ministry, and visiting the shut ins.
She spent her younger years in Mullens, West Virginia until graduating from Mullens High School in 1961. Yvonne attended Beckley College where she was chosen “Miss Beckley College” and met the love of her life.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Michelle Wahl and Jason of Daniels and Sherry Richmond and David of Daniels; grandchildren, Cody Richmond, Kierra Richmond and fiancé Rian Cooper, and Kylie Wahl; brother Jimmy Kirk and his wife Diane of Beckley; Brother-in law, John Chambers and his wife Mary Ann of Flatwoods, Buford Chambers of Richwood, and Byron Chambers and his wife of Romney and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Calfee Funeral Home is Beckley, West Virginia with Pastor Vondie L. Cook, II officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 12 – 2 PM prior to the service at Calfee Funeral Home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
