Yvonne W. Kern

Yvonne W. Kern, 85, of Stevens, went home to see her Lord surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital- Penn Medicine.
She was born in Reinholds to Melvin B. and Verna M. (Lebo) Ochs and was the wife of J. Richard Kern, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on July 2nd.
She was a member of Port Ann Wesleyan Church in Snyder County and attended Mohn's Hill Evangelical Church. She loved crocheting, coloring, diamond art, and camping. She camped for 39 years at the Gray Squirrel Campground in Troxelville. She enjoyed playing games, especially dominoes. She loved music. She played mandolin and sang with a gospel band at Gray Squirrel Campground and Grace Fellowship Church. She loved making pancake puffs for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; family was most important to her.
In addition to her husband, Yvonne is survived by 3 children, Deborah, wife of David Cunningham, Denver, Perry Kern, husband of Tracey, Gouglersville, Melissa Kern and companion Kenny Simgelski, Newark DE. 6 grandchildren, Dillon Lorditch (Amanda), Tyler Lorditch (Janelle), Brianna Fake (Trevor), Lindsey Kern, Dalton Kern (Maria), and Keionna Brodman.; 7 step-grandchildren, Stacey Mongiovi, Bernard Lorditch, III, Matthew Lorditch, Keith Cunningham, Jessie Cunningham, Lucas Dekalb and Ashley Smigelski; 10 great-grandchildren, Mason, Hudson, Navy, Lilly, Leah, Julian, Gunner, Lilionna, Tylor and Jasmine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Fay Klopp, brother Jay Ochs and a son-in law Bernard Lorditch, Jr.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM, with Rev. Ken Ogden officiating. Interment will take place in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
