Yvonne Nealy

On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, God sent an angel to take Yvonne Nealy to her heavenly home. She was born on October 28, 1937, to the late Hattie and John B. Giles, Sr., in Rochelle, Georgia. Yvonne was educated through the Rochelle School System before relocating to Passaic, NJ in 1954, where she met and married Reginald Nealy, and to that union three sons were born. She joined the Union Baptist Church of Passaic and served there for several years. In 1987 she joined Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. Louis McDowell.
Yvonne, affectionately called "Boney", was a great cook. She was known for her golden-brown fried chicken, mac and cheese, and her homemade spaghetti sauce with meatballs. She had a sweet and calm personality. Never raising her voice, she was a strong, private person, and devoted to her family. She liked shopping, traveling, going to Atlantic City, and having fun with family and friends. She always had a witty remark that made you laugh. She was employed by Becton Dickinson and the Hanover Insurance Company, retiring in 1997. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Reginald Nealy; sons, Ronald, David, and Gregory Nealy, and brothers; William, Charlie, and John B. Giles, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, six grandchildren; Sharif, Orien, Tyrik, Kyle, and Sherie Nealy, all of NJ and Myesha Nealy of Florida,four great-grandchildren; Sean and Logan Nealy, Rory and Liam Garcia, two daughters-in-law; Iris Nealy of California and Michelle Nealy-McNeil of Burlington, NJ, one brother-in-law; Arthur Smith of New Jersey, four sisters; Mae Etta Dean of Silver Springs, MD, Gladys Giles of Passaic, NJ, Marie Hendley, and a devoted sister; Mary Lue Hansford of Clifton, NJ, close friends; Maurice McNeil of Burlington, NJ, Ruth and Adonis Baldwin of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
