Reed Plantation - Yvonne Rollins, age 87, passed away peacefully Friday September 26th. A beacon of warmth and kindness, Yvonne lived a life defined by open arms, open doors, and open-hearted conversation.
Born in Danforth in1938, Yvonne built a home that was more than just four walls-it was a haven. Whether you were family, friends, or stranger, you were always welcome at her table as long as you start your diet on Monday! Her smile, ever-present and genuine, had the power to brighten even the darkest days. She believed in the beauty of connection and never missed an opportunity to share a story, listen intently, or laugh wholeheartedly.
Yvonne filled her days with nurturing her family, never missing a holiday, birthday, graduation, wedding or shower. She always made a point that if the car was going, she was in it! Yvonne was the proud mother of six children, each of whom carries forward her legacy of compassion, resilience, and joy. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family, touching countless lives with her generosity and grace.
She will be remembered for her unwavering hospitality, her love of conversation, and the way she made everyone feel like they belonged. Her life was a testament to kindness, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Yvonne Rollins is survived by her children, Carlene (Brian) Treadwell, Gail (Larry) Malone, Rhonda (Tim) Irish, Patricia (Randy) Harris, Carl (Falene) Rollins II, and Rene (Carl) Crone. 16 grandchildren, Erin, Jacob, Matt, Mallory, Danny, Tim, Chris, Brooke, AJ, Charis, Tristan, Nick, Caleb, Angelina, Whitney and Logan and 28 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings Alston (Joyce) Wood, Arthur (Robin) Wood, Leslie (Dorris) Wood, Lorraine Vinci, Leland (Gayle) Wood, Paul Wood and sister-in-law's Carolyn Coauette and Faye Hart. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every warm welcome, every heartfelt chat, and every smile shared in her honor.
Yvonne was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Carl "Sonny" Rollins, her parents Dellis Wood and Beulah (Tedford) Wood Muncey, brothers Maurice and Clayton White, sister Ethelyn Huntley, and great granddaughter, Carissa Babcock and great grandson, Gabriel Rollins. A graveside service will be held at the Rollins Tree Farm on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11AM, followed by a celebration of Yvonne's life at the Wytopitlock Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Wytopitlock Baptist Church 707 ME-171 Reed, ME 04497 where she has been a loyal member for 70 years.
