Natalie Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 16, 2025.
MILLINOCKET – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Natalie J. Brown, 82, on October 6, 2025 at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth. Natalie was born on May 26, 1943, in Millinocket to Charles and Beatrice (Skinner) Stewart. Natalie was raised in Millinocket, Maine and lived her entire life in the town she loved. She was a fiercely independent woman with a stubborn spirit that served her well as a survivor and a fighter until her final breath. She was predeceased by the two great loves of her life, her husband, Wayne Brown and later, her partner, William "Mort" Martell. Natalie loved to listen to music in addition to her other creative interests in drawing, painting, and cooking. In her earlier days, she loved spending time at her camp, where she could be found fishing, relaxing on her porch, or playing a competitive game of Yahtzee. She also valued her lifelong friendships, whom she remained loyal to over the years. Above all, she dedicated her life to her large family. She was the mother of seven children: Steven, Janet, Van, Tracy, Bryant, Eric and the late Russ Brown, with whom she will now be joyfully reunited. Natalie is also survived by her many grandchildren who she enjoyed watching grow throughout their numerous visits. Natalie also comes from a large family and remained close to her seven siblings over her lifetime: Charlie, Roger, Barbara, Nellie, Douglas, Paul, and Ruth. Though her last years were marked by a courageous battle with dementia, her spirit and fight never dimmed. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, creativity, and unwavering love. There will be a graveside service at Millinocket Cemetery on October 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
