Zac Glover Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home on Aug. 21, 2024.
Zac Glover, 38, born December 3rd, 1985 in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 18, 2024 in his home with his wife, Sarah Mae, and sister, Krista by his side.
Zac spent most of his young adult life working as a successful sports broadcaster, a career that took him from Great Falls, Montana to Hagerstown, Maryland to Roanoke, Virginia, and many sports fields and gymnasiums in between. It was in Hagerstown where he would meet his loving wife, Sarah Mae. She joined him in Roanoke, and the two were wed on May 29, 2016.
Zac traded in his microphone for a calculator as he transitioned into a career as a financial advisor, and the pair moved back to his old Kentucky home. His new career provided him plenty of time to sing karaoke and sail the Caribbean with his bride.
It also meant he was able to keep a closer eye on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats. After his wife, family, friends, and felines (he is survived by his loving cats Hubert and Nora, and preceded in death by his and Sarah Mae's first pet together, Jasper Clyde), there was nothing in this world he loved more than his Cats. He loved going to as many games as he could with Sarah Mae and his Uncle Bill. He sure wouldn't mind if Mark Pope and the boys won another National Championship for him in the near future. He'll be on Heaven's message boards keeping everyone in line.
Zac enjoyed playing poker whenever he could, and was always up for a game of tennis. He never met a stranger, and everyone who was fortunate to have crossed paths with him is better for it. His signature tagline was, "you doin' alright?" And that wasn't just a turn of phrase. He was genuinely curious. He always cared more about others than himself, right up to the very end.
Zac's battle with cancer may have come to an end, but his legacy of love, laughter, and friendship never will. Per his request, there will be no funeral service, private celebration of life TBA. Zac would prefer his family and friends to spend time with their loved ones, and think back on all the great times you've shared with Zac. In lieu of flowers, Zac would have liked you to make a donation to your local humane society, or maybe even consider rescuing a pet.
Zac was a constant ray of sunshine in a sometimes dark world. He always looked for the positive in every situation. And your greatest testament to him would be to live your lives a little bit like he did to keep his spirit alive. After all, all we need is Glove.
