Zachary Charles Brown, 25, was taken from us too soon on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born in Marshfield, Massachusetts, on September 11, 1998, Zach grew up in Carver, Massachusetts.
From the very start, Zach was a force of nature. Zach and his younger brother discovered motocross when he was 7. This is when we realized he was born with the need for speed, which explains his lack of enthusiasm for T-ball and soccer. An accomplished racer on the New England amateur circuit for nearly a decade, Zach leaves behind shelves of trophies showcasing his talent for the thrilling sport. In fact, much to the consternation of his parents, Zach was a thrill-seeker from the day he was born. Whether he was doing a wheelie on his dirt bike in the middle of the road, racing down a black diamond ski trail, or climbing a 30-foot tower to take a selfie, Zach had no fear and loved the exhilaration of a challenge. In his late teens, he traded in his dirt bike for skis and took his love of the outdoors to greater heights, becoming an avid skier in the blink of an eye.
Following his 2017 graduation from Carver Middle High School, Zach pursued a passion for aviation at Cape Cod Community College, honing his technical skills at a local airport while attending classes. After completing the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program in 2021, he was quickly recruited out west to work on private aircraft in Boulder, Colorado. He was filled with excitement for this new chapter in his life and was extremely talented at his craft. He recently started working at a new company in May, and we are comforted hearing how adored he was by his bosses and co-workers.
His move to the Denver area only deepened his love of nature, and Zach embraced the outdoor life and the Rocky Mountains. Colorado was his oasis, where you could find him skiing almost every weekend in the winter. In the past few years, with some encouragement from a close friend, Zach was introduced to long-distance mountain and trail running, where he excelled naturally: one of his greatest accomplishments was completing a marathon up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
An animal lover with a house full of dogs, reptiles, and many wonderful fish tanks in his bedroom, Zach was also a brilliant and talented artist and designer, with many of his drawings adorning the walls of his family, friends, and school hallways. Zach's most recent creative passion was 3-D printing, spending free time designing creations such as dirt bike parts, remote control cars, toolbox organizers, and most enthusiastically, his beloved Millennium Falcon (Floating Yoda forever!)
Without question, Zach's cheeriest enthusiasm in life was his friends, and he was blessed with many from a myriad of backgrounds from all over the country. There was never a good time or party that he would pass up, and he was (to quote many) the happiest kid in the room at all times. Zach brought light and laughter to everyone around him, and he loved attending concerts, sporting events, and ski trips with his close, zany crew. His absence on a recent summer vacation with all his Carver friends was felt tremendously, and his memory was remembered and regaled.
Zach loved life, his family, and his friends fiercely. He was a well-rounded, kind, sensitive, and an extremely compassionate person. He positively impacted everyone he encountered and will be deeply missed. Our lives will never be the same without him. His laughter, his presence, and the joy he brought into our lives is irreplaceable. Our hearts are broken by his sudden departure. The memory of Zach's spirit will continue to guide us and give us strength as we navigate a world that is certainly dimmer without him.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Daryn and Beth Brown, his brother, Travis Brown, and his grandparents, Enid & Seth Crowell, and Charles and Sonya Gill. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him. Services for Zach will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
