Safe in the arms of Jesus
"I refuse to be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the liberating power of God, unleashed in us through Jesus, for salvation from His wrath; made available for those who recognize His relentless pursuit of them, and who believe in and declare Jesus Christ as Savior and claim his marvelous love as their own!" Romans 1:16 (paraphrase)
"Zach Attack" was a fearless force, who never met a stranger. With keen eyes, Zach saw beyond the obvious, especially when it came to others. Purposeful with his gift of compassion, he intentionally pursued people, often being the first to check in, measure hearts, offer help or go the extra mile to ensure that someone was seen, valued and loved. Zach was everyone's biggest fan! Being on loan from God, his servant heart and passion for worshipping the Lord was very evident among his family, friends, church and homeschool communities. With a great ability to analyze any situation, he also possessed wisdom beyond his years to know exactly what to do when faced with a challenge. Tackling life and adventure at full speed, he was usually found stopping spontaneously on the way to somewhere just to experience an opportunity, simply because it was there to do. Whether it was making a U-turn for a tractor pull, a jump in the lake, collecting bits of nature, watching a sunset or climbing a cell tower just to get a better view, he HAD to do it. Although his choices and actions throughout his brief journey on this earth seemed impulsive (especially to his momma), Zach was incredibly calculated, strategic and intentional; yet his thoughts and words always tumbled out faster than his body could respond or his mouth could keep up. All of these, and so many more intangible qualities, are what made us cherish Zach. He infused, conquered and impacted this world for sixteen extraordinary years! Now he is fully alive fully restored fully ALL that God created and had in mind for him to be. (Romans 5:2)
Zachariah was preceded in death by his infant brothers Luke and Jacob, and is survived by his parents, Mark and Naomi Chaffee, siblings Seth (20), Lydia (18), Levi (13), a massive extended family, and countless friends and comrades You all know who you are, and it is no coincidence that you were joined and knitted to Zach for the purpose of expanding the Kingdom and extending God's love and profound joy!
