Zachary Ryan Alger, 43, of Shenandoah, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025. Zach was born November 12, 1981 in Harrisonburg and was the son of Kathy Rudolph Comer and Lonnie Comer.

Zach graduated from Page County High School with the class of 2001. He worked in construction and specialized in carpentry and also had a knack for custom furniture making. He also worked part-time recently at T-Bowl Lanes keeping the machines maintained.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Avery Alger, Wyatt Alger; a daughter, Raelynn Alger; five sisters, Amy Eaton, Terri "Sissy" Comer and companion, Hank Blosser, Marcy Sampson and husband, Kenny, Amanda Smith, Dana May and husband, Tommy; a brother, Travis Comer and companion, Rachel Stepp; mothers of his children, Felicia Rosson and Destinee White; numerous extended family, including special aunts, uncles and close cousins, Ian Rudolph and Johnny Haney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Arlton Alger.

Zachary enjoyed fishing and spending time with his kids. Zach had a strong relationship with our Savior. He is free, at peace and whole with his Lord and Savior, the one who knew him the best.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Jared Link officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Comertown.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the family with regard to unexpected expenses.

I used to always call him biscuit and tell him he liked sopig up all da gravy work . me an lonnie would pick on him about what time it was i could always guess within ten minute's with lonnies help of corse . I sure will miss the ol boy .
