Zaharia is survived by her three children, Nicholaus (Paraskevi) Gogos, Alexandra Gogos,

Zaharia Gogos was born on January 6, 1936, in the mountain village of Flampouro, Greece.
The second youngest of eight children, she grew up during the hardships of World War II and
the Greek Civil War-experiences that shaped her lifelong resilience.
In the mid-1950s, she married Athanasios Gogos, and together they welcomed three children:
Nicholaus, Alexandra, and Christos. With limited job opportunities available to them, Zaharia
and Athanasios made tremendous sacrifices to secure a better future for their children. They
spent several years working in factories in Germany-a difficult decision that required them to leave their young children in the care of
Athanasios's mother while they worked and saved. Their determination eventually allowed
them to return Flampouro and then the nearby city of Florina, Greece, where they built their home themselves, entirely by hand.
In 1968, the family immigrated to the United States, beginning a new chapter built on courage, perseverance, and hope.
In Rochester, NY, Zaharia and Athanasios found work in local restaurants as servers and cooks,
often living on the top floor of the very establishments where they worked long hours each day. Their determination
eventually led them to run the Mt. Read Diner and, later, to establish the Eastridge Family Restaurant. Through unwavering dedication,
they created a place that became a beloved community fixture and continues to be operated by their daughter.
Zaharia devoted her life to her family. In her later years, she played an essential role in helping
her daughter raise her children. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she embraced her role as a grandmother with unmatched love and exuberance.
She was the heart of the household and the most devoted yiayia-hilarious, comforting, and full of warmth. She was one of a kind and no one will ever be able to replace her, she is so deeply missed.
She was deeply rooted in her faith and community. Zaharia proudly served at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church,
where she volunteered for every Greek Festival, joyfully making loukoumades for countless visitors over the years. She was also a proud
member of the Aghia Paraskevi Society, sharing friendship, laughter, and countless stories with the women of her Greek community.
She will be remembered for her remarkable strength, tireless work ethic, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in those who loved her-
in the home she built, the family she raised, the community she uplifted, and the countless acts of sacrifice and love that defined her life. She
was luminescent, lighting up every room with her warm smile and infectious laughter. She will be cherished forever.
Visitation will be held at Profetta Funeral Chapel at 1650 Empire Blvd. on Tuesday, December 2,
2025 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox
Church at 962 East Ave. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 10am. Interment will follow at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers,
