Zbigniew “Richard” Mierzejewski

Zbigniew "Richard" Mierzejewski, 87, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at his home in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on April 8, 1938 in Poland to the late Jacek Mierzejewski & Olga Andryshyn Mierzejewski.

Along with his parents, Richard is reunited in passing with his beloved wife, Maria T. Mierzejewski and his treasured dogs, Bella and Piper.

Richard was a Polish immigrant who took pride in hard work and determination. He fought for the American Dream with every opportunity. He worked tirelessly as a mold maker in the plastics industry for many years to provide for his family. In his free time, Richard enjoyed the simple things in life. After years of dedication to his trade, Richard proudly retired and shifted all of his focus to his family. He relished time spent making memories and just being present for their milestones. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his adoring sons, Adam Mierzejewski and his wife, Holly of Bridgeton, NJ & Mark Mierzejewski of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandson, Mason; granddaughter, Alexis; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be held on Thursday March 12, 2026 at 10am at St. Michael Catholic Church, Cypress Ave., Garden City, SC 29576. Inurnment within the church columbarium will immediately follow the service.
