Zena Fliegler

Holmdel/Tinton Falls – ZENA FLIEGLER passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Holly Manor in Mendham NJ. She was 81 years old. Zena was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Abe and Sophie Finkelstein. She was married to Michael Fliegler for 50 years until their divorce in 2014. They raised 2 children, Staci Weiss and Cary Fliegler. Zena also considered her daughter-in-law Hannah Fliegler as her 3rd child. She was a homemaker and continued her education also holding a number of part time jobs. Zena designed and sold costume jewelry, worked as an office manager for a home health agency, and was a preschool teacher's assistant. She also gave back to her community volunteering to teach individuals English as a second language and helping battered women in crisis. Zena was an avid animal lover and fondly recounted stories of all her fur babies over the years.
Zena is predeceased by her parents, Abe and Sophie Finkelstein and her brother, Bob. Surviving Zena is her brother, Albert; children Staci Weiss and Cary Fliegler and their spouses Scott Glover & Hannah Fliegler; grandchildren, Jake, Jessica, Aubree and Brendon, Sophia, Sam and Aria.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 23rd, 2024, 11:00 am at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 374 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick, NJ. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
