Zhi Jian Zheng

Zhijian Zheng, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Born on October 15, 1949, in Fuzhou, China, Zhijian was the son of the late Guiping and Shuqing (Chen) Zheng. In 1988, he emigrated to the United States and initially settled in South Bound Brook, New Jersey. In 2002, he and his family relocated to Kendall Park, where they built a warm and loving home.
Zhijian worked as a store manager in China and later at Asian Food Market in Plainsboro, New Jersey, dedicating many years to his work. A devout man of faith, he was deeply involved in his church community, where he shared his passion for cooking by serving as the church's chef, preparing meals for members and visitors alike. He found joy and inspiration in reading the Bible, listening to Chinese opera, and spending time with his cherished family.
Zhijian is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Lizhu Zhao, and their devoted daughter, Holly Wei Zheng.
Zhijian was loved by so many people; his wife, daughter, 3 sisters and extended family, friends and church family. It was a life well lived! Now he has returned to heaven and reunited with his mother and father.
Visitation will take place at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow on the same day from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Entombment will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Somerset.
