Zion Khalil Thomas

Zion Khalil Thomas, beloved son of Kenisha Thomas and Christopher Woods, was born April 22, 2024. Though his time with us was short, Zion brought endless love and joy to all who knew him and would have celebrated his second birthday on April 22nd.

Zion showed a deep attachment to his mother and was happiest when he was close to her. He rarely left her side, earning the nickname “Velcro baby” as he was always leaning against her, sitting at her feet, or climbing into her lap—he simply needed the comfort of her touch. He was also known for his playful personality, especially enjoying tickles and playful wrestling with his father and brother. Zion was also his sister’s baby. She lovingly watched over him, often taking things from him she felt were unsafe, while he happily followed her around the house, wanting to be near both his sister and brother.

Zion was a little explorer, always curious and on the move. Tall for his age, he loved pulling things down and out. He would even hide in the kitchen cabinets, turning them into his own little hiding spots. He was also known for doing things on his own time—often ignoring you when you called, only to come moments later to hug and love on you. Above all, Zion brought love, laughter, and warmth to his family, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished.

He will forever live on in the hearts of his parents, Kenisha Thomas and Christopher Woods; his siblings, Loren Thomas and Levi Thomas; his grandmothers, Joann White and Sonya Woods; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and all who loved him.

Visitation for Zion will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring both Zion and his grandmother, Joann White, will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
