Zipse Jeanette Ellen

Jeanette Ellen Zipse passed away peacefully, surrounded by her two children in the early morning of September 25th, 2024 at the age of 91.
She was born at home in Laurel, Delaware to Elsie and Ira Hastings. Jeanette was married to the love of her life, Donald Zipse, for 65 years before he passed away 4 years prior. Together they had three children, Wayne (deceased), David, and Donna. For the past 18 years, Jeanette called Maris Grove home with her late husband, Donald Zipse where they built lasting friendships and community. For the majority of those years, they would spend 6 months at Maris Grove and 6 months in Rehoboth beach, Delaware at their beach house. It was what she described as her favorite place on earth.
In the summers, you could find Jeanette on the front porch of the beach house reading a book, playing sudoku or doing a puzzle. There was nothing she enjoyed more than sitting on the beach with her family and bringing everyone together through the house.
By trade, she was a nurse for 40 years but if you asked her what she valued the most in this world, it was her family. On her final day, her son David, a professional musician, played her all of her favorite songs for hours as she soaked in listening to his final performance for her. Jeanette was gentle, kind, wise, and a silent observer. Many people in life strive to be all sorts of things, but if there is anything in this life you should take away from her, it is that there is wisdom in being an observer, silence is the greatest virtue, to above all cherish your family and don't forget to pause and enjoy the arts and the beauty of your surroundings.
Jeanette leaves loving memories to be cherished by her two remaining children David Zipse and (Suzanne Snajdr), and Donna Vernon and (Mike Hahn); two grandchildren Andrew and (Carissa) Vernon, Nicole and (Caleb) Lyon, and her five great grand-children Abigail, Cassidy and Elwood Vernon, and Lucas and Blakely Lyon.
A viewing will be held on Thursday October 3rd, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
