Zita Sebastian Obituary

Zita Theresa Sebastian
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Zita Theresa Sebastian, on July 20, 2025 at Bridges in Norwalk. Born in Bombay, India, the daughter of the late Ligory and Louisa (Vas) Pinto, she was also predeceased by her brother Gerry Pinto.
She retired from working at Stew Leonard's after 33 years where her strong work ethic helped her have continued success. She started her career working the night shift in the bakery so she would not be away while her boys were awake, later becoming the Executive Director of Bakery and Prepared Foods and retired as the Director of Sales. She loved the customers, and many would often ask to see her. She left her mark at the Norwalk store and if you have had the fresh tortillas, rice cakes or sushi (to name a few), you can thank her.
A devoted mother, devout Catholic, avid traveler, amazing cook and voracious reader, she was active in her church and had a generous heart for helping others.
She is survived by her three loving sons: Michael Sebastian and his wife Daisy Emily, of Norwalk, Joshua James Sebastian and his wife Jennifer Anne of Lloyd Harbor, NY, and John Paul Sebastian and his wife Ashley Marie Ferrara of Norwalk, seven cherished "grandies": Nathan, Maya, Ben, Clara, Olivia, Nora and Gray, as well as two sisters, Greta Moraes and her husband Ivan, and Lidvina Pereira and her husband Royston and her sister-in-law, Rita Panicker.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Flowers are welcome, and Memorial donations may be made to: Butterfliesusa.org, the charity founded by her sister-in-law.

Happy memories of Zita and boys from Cranbury School, cub scouts and St. Jerome. We reconnected later when I went to PT and I saw her often at Stews.

May memories of your wonderful mom give you comfort.
