Her Legacy Zofia Winnicki, 94, passed away June 10, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1930, in Lwow, Poland to Kazimierz Lachowicz and Katatrzyna (Baczmaniski) Lachowicz. Zofia married the love of her life, Wesley Winnicki, on September 29, 1959 in Wroclaw, Poland. In 1991, Zofia immigrated to the United States and enjoyed making friends with other polish immigrants. Zofia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. When 2 of her granddaughters' mother passed away, she lovingly stepped in to care for them as a mom. She enjoyed sitting on her porch, looking out over her flower garden. Zofia loved animals, especially dogs. She was a long time parishioner of Holy Spirit, her faith was very important to her. Zofia was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Her Family Zofia will be missed by her husband, Wesley Winnicki; her son, Christopher and his wife, Anna Winnicki; grandchildren, Nicole Winnicki, Joanna Winnicki, Ann M. Winnicki; and nephew, Walter Szmidt. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kazimierz and Katatrzyna Lachowicz; and her siblings.
Her Farewell Zofia's Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00AM (10AM gathering), at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Brighton, Michigan. Father Jonathan Perrotta will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
