Zonja Rodocker, age 80, of Long Beach, passed away on September 9, 2025.
Zonja was a native of Buffalo, New York. She earned a Bachelor of Education at Purdue University and a Master in Counseling at Texas A&M University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ancel L. and Rose Marie Van Buren; her husband, Walter Rodocker; her brother, Ancel Lester Van Buren, Jr.; and her grandson, Blake McKenna.
Zonja is survived by her daughter, Tammy McKenna (Edward); her son, Dean Smith; her siblings, Dorral Van Buren, Elon Van Buren, and Tonya Van Buren; her grandchildren, Amanda McKenna (Raeanne), Aiden Dean Smith, Keegan Dale Smith, Hutton David Smith; and her great grandchild, Marley Blake McKenna.
She served as Texas State Teacher's Association President and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, LCMS. Zonja retired as a School Counselor.
Zonja will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10 - 11 am, at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the chapel. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
A reception will be held after the burial at the home of Tammy and Ed McKenna.
