Zulema Serna

Zulema Serna, a beloved soul who touched the hearts of many, passed away on April 22, 2024. She was known for her kind and welcoming nature, always making others feel at ease with her gentle presence. Zulema's life was a tapestry of love, family, and faith.  Born on December 26, 1939, Zulema lived a life filled with joy in the company of her family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and found solace in the embrace of nature as she enjoyed being outdoors.
 
 Zulema's proudest accomplishment was her unwavering devotion to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. A devout Catholic with a heart full of faith, she found strength and peace in her religious beliefs.
 
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered by her surviving family members: her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Zulema's memory will also be cherished by her wide circle of friends who were touched by her warmth and grace.

 

Zulema Serna may have left this world, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

 

She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Serna; parents, Reymundo and Eva (Mercado) Serna; and brother, Raymundo Serna, Jr.

 

Among those left to cherish her memory are her son, Andres (Brenda) Serna; siblings, Belia Serna Garcia, Josie Serna Adams, Eva Serna Hernandez, Ruben Serna, and Ernesto Serna; grandchildren, Logan Serna and Lilly Serna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
 

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.  Services will conclude that evening and an urn burial will take place at a later date.
